Note: this is a modern reconstruction, not an original historic structure. Built in the early 1990s as part of a campaign to renovate Derry's historic walled centre, it stands in the style of an Irish tower house to honour an original 17th-century O'Doherty Tower that once stood nearby near Castle Gate but has since vanished. It now houses the Tower Museum, telling the story of Derry and the O'Doherty clan.
